Not all chemicals for asphalt shingle rejuvenation are created equal.
Questions consumers should ask before choosing a roofing company.
RENUEIT 17 by Roof Savers is the ONLY product that offers 17 CONTINUOUS YEARS of warranty coverage with just ONE application, ONE treatment visit and ONE payment.
BE AWARE OF DECEPTIVE MARKETING. “Up to 15 years” does not mean 15 continuous years. It means 5 years + 5 years + 5 years. In order to get “up to 15 years”, these products must be reapplied every 5 years and thus, require at least 3 applications, at least 3 treatment visits and additional costly payments.
Most, if not all, roof rejuvenation products contain an ingredient called soy methyl ester. It is also known as methyl soyate, soy palmitate, soy-based oils, bio-based oils, or plant-based oils. No matter what they call it, it's the same soy methyl ester.
It only lasts 5 years! When used as a roof shingle rejuvenation product,"soy methyl ester products typically last around five years per application." How do we know? Our competitors’ websites, patents and other publications reveal the truth that soy methyl ester and other bio-based oils do not last very long...
In fact, the widely-used technology has been proven time and time again to only last 5 years. Some studies even found that it only lasts 3 years. So why use an inferior, outdated product that only lasts 5 years and will cost more money to achieve "up to 15 years."
That their product must be reapplied every couple of years. That you have to be inconvenienced every couple of years during the multiple application processes. That you have to pay more $$$$.
Absolutely. There are companies that market “extend your roof by 10-15 years” but their fine print says that it only works on shingles that are 7 years old or younger. That makes no sense. Asphalt shingles themselves are warrantied for a minimum of 20 years. Why would you try to rejuvenate asphalt shingles which are 7 years old and younger?
BE AWARE OF FALSE ADVERTISING CLAIMS. Based on our direct communication with UL, only asphalt shingles (not chemicals for rejuvenating asphalt shingles) can be tested and given UL designation such as “Class 3 or Class 4”. Any company making claims that they are converting “Class 1 shingles to Class 3 or 4 shingles” using their chemicals is deceiving the public. Ask the roofing company for documentation from UL certifying their product as UL tested.
No, in order to get our 17-year warranty with one application, one treatment and one payment, please make sure the roofing company that you hire is an Authorized Renueit® Dealer.
Roof Savers® North America LLC has no relationship with roofing companies using the Roof Savers® name unless they are designated as Authorized Renueit® Dealers.
Absolutely not unless they have an EPA registration. If such claims are made, ask for their EPA registration.
Is there any truth to our competitor’s allegations that Roof Savers infringes a patent? No, these allegations are not only false, they are unsubstantiated, fraudulently misleading and defamatory.
Our competitor falsely alleges that Roof Savers infringes proposed claims of a pending patent application by Hendershot (US20240209633A1 entitled “Method for Application of Protective Roof Coating”) if it were to be issued as a patent.
Firstly, the Hendershot patent application cannot issue because its subject matter has been disclosed from 1950-1970 and is thus, in the public domain. *
Secondly, Roof Savers has obtained an opinion letter from its patent counsel that they do not practice the method disclosed in Hendershot and thus, cannot infringe the claims even if it were to issue.
Thirdly, Roof Savers has filed its own patent application for its innovative process that teaches away from Hendershot.
Fourthly, Roof Savers is well prepared to defend its products and processes from any allegations of infringement and upon issuance, we are more than ready to enforce our patents.
Apparently, our competitor’s soy methyl ester and its 5 year warranty cannot fairly compete with the superiority of our patent pending Renueit products and its 17 year warranty, resorting to interfering with our business using false and misleading statements about Roof Savers.
* The crux of the patent application is based on applying a sealant on a roof shingle using an airless low pressure sprayer starting from the top of the roof and going downward and then curing. The subject matter of the pending claims is not patentable because there are numerous prior art references that pre-date Hendershot's priority date of December 2022. In fact, Graco introduced the airless paint sprayer in 1958.1 The concept of spraying a concrete roof coating first occurred in 1958 and in 1960, it became prevalent as roof coatings materials developed.2 In the 1960s, polyurethane foam was sprayed utilizing these airless sprayers.3 In the late 1960s, new mixtures such as silicone were sprayed using airless devices.4 In the late 1970s, acrylic roof coatings were applied on roofs using airless sprayers.5 It is well documented that all these materials have a curing step.6 Furthermore, there are numerous manuals, videos and publications showing coatings being applied to roofs from top to bottom using airless sprayers 7 (including devices attached to backpacks 8). Even if this application were to be issued as a patent, there are numerous prior art references that would invalidate this patent.

Absolutely not. These false and misleading statements by our competitors are unsubstantiated, made solely to interfere with Roof Savers business and deceive our potential customers from using Renueit products.
Renueit customers are indemnified from patent infringement cases and thus, such cases do not affect Renueit's 17 year warranty and the homeowner's insurance policy. Furthermore, the Hendershot patent application, if it were to issue as a patent, relates to the method of application and has nothing to do with a product so homeowners cannot be justifiably sued. The Renuiet formulation is patent pending and our innovative 5 step process is also patent pending so customers are further protected from any liability.
Typically, shingles that are five to ten years old begin to show signs of aging and granule loss, making them good candidates for a preservation treatment with Renueit®17 from Roof Savers® before they start to curl and become brittle. Shingles that are already curled at the edges, have severe granule loss, or show other significant damage may not qualify for the preservation process.
Shingle preservation typically costs about 20%-30% of what a full replacement would.
In the USA, the average cost of roof replacement is $10,000.00 on a 2,500 sq ft house
A certified Renueit® dealer will inspect your roof's condition and qualify it for the preservation process based on the size, pitch, and condition of the roof.
By treating your shingles with Renueit®17, you can extend their lifespan by at least 17 years beyond their expected durability. (For example, a ten-year-old shingle may have 5–8 years left; with treatment, that can be extended by an additional 17 years with Renueit®17.) That said, no reputable solar company will install panels on a failing roof. This type of treatment offers both homeowners and solar companies another option and a longer timeframe before roof replacement becomes necessary.
Renueit®17 shingle preservation revives aging asphalt shingles, helping to prevent problems like cracking and granule loss. Soft washing with sodium hypochlorite uses a bleach-based solution to remove organic stains such as algae and moss, improving the roof’s appearance without harming the shingles. Shingle preservation focuses on extending the life and performance of the shingles, while soft washing addresses cosmetic concerns—each serving a distinct purpose in roof maintenance.
We clean your roof first, then treat your shingles with Renueit®17. Effectively eliminating moss, algae, and black streaks and keeping it off for years to come.
It really depends on the insurance company—most agree that maintaining shingles helps save both them and homeowners money over time. Any inspector would see a treated shingle and recognize that it performs like new: it’s holding granules in place and remains flexible.
